Considering all of the information I want to include about this particular story, I'm making this journal dedicated to anything Dyn-O-Mite related.  Feel free to look at what's posted.

MOTHER FUCKER, I KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN.

Ok, it's been a LONG time since I've even shown an ounce of work here for Dyn-O-Mite.  Well, that's because of a few things:

1. I literally didn't work on any of the pages over the summer, which doesn't make any freaking sense to me at all...

2. I REALLY do not have the time to be working on it at the moment...

3. I've decided to redo the whole thing.

...WAIT, SAY WHAT?!

Yeah, after thinking about the comic as a whole, I've decided to redo pretty much all that I have for it so far.  I think that even includes all of my Chapter 2 pages, but I haven't really decided on that yet (they're still pretty good, I might edit a few pages or something).  What's really prompting me to "start over" is just looking at the first chapter: there were some REALLY good things about the comic, considering it was my first real endeavor for this sort of project, but after spending some time on the Cooking Wars entry and even some on-the-side projects (which I'll post soon enough), I've realized my style has improved...somewhat drastically in the past 5 or six months.  Not only that, but after a long time to sort of reconsider the story as a whole, I've given more thought into how the story needs to pan out, and thus I know I can change the first chapter to clear up any and all of the stupid confusion I caused with my first attempt (remember, I was pretty much half-assing my way through the thing just so I could say "I have a web comic!")

So, I hate to disappoint, but you'll all have to suffer another version of the first chapter, and be reaquainted with all of the characters...AGAIN.  But at least it might actually make sense...

[NOTE #1] Although the story actually exists and I'll begin planning the first couple of pages for Chapter one all over again, it'll be a LONG time before anything gets posted, only because of the school schedule and restrictions going on right now.  I have to get my college applications done by October 23 (inluding 1-2 portfolios of 5-10 pieces each, and 2 essays), so that's my primary focus right now along with homework.  Expect some side stuff every now and then, though...

[NOTE #2] A LOT of the information on this journal page will be revised and edited, but not until a little while later when I've got more time, I'm leaving in about 15 minutes, so just expect that kind of thing to happen later today or something.

[SYNOPSIS]
Not the greatest hero around, Morganne is more flare than most can handle.  And it doesn't help when you live in a house packed full of other teenage girls ready to slit each other's throats, all the while learning to control the power of essence within them and become powerful warriors.  As time goes on though, Morganne and her friends will make new allies, and even some new enemies, in this explosive series!  WARNING: if you can't stand the dynamite, stay out of this demolition zone!

Other:
Morganne is pretty much the main character (thank you, I'm very conceited), but Amy (her best friend) and Lily are close behind her.  Because of Morganne having a class with Lizz sometime in the past, Lizz reveals a secret to her of controlling one's essence, a natural force within everyone that allows them the ability to interact with and manipulate the world and supernatural forces around them.  This concept is one of the driving forces itself of the comic (I'm assuming).  Because Morganne and Amy are so interested in this phenomenon (Lily already knew much earlier), they allow Lizz to "train" them.  But along the way, other people who know how to use their essence and have their own "guardians" (in some cases they're demons), show up periodically and that's how much of the conflict insues.  Sometimes the characters will become friends, othertimes they become enemies, but either way I'm hoping that explains some of what the story will be like.  Overall, it's about Morganne, Amy, and even Lily becoming stronger and more experienced in this bizarre world.

:bulletorange: Yes, I'm currently taking requests to have a character featured in the story. I've already gotten at least (1) request from these people to be featured:

*VooDooDollMaster --- her character is already set to appear and I've gotten all the details figured out for her background and stuff.

As a consideration, I may create a tournament of some sort to get people's OCs involved if anyone's interested.  For now, though, I'm just too busy to come up with any ideas or thoughts on how to go about hosting an OC tournament.  In future chapters, if I can't think of any new characters, I'll throw this idea more out into the open.

This is hard to say.  Depends on what "how long" entails...

Time?: I can see this project going well into the future, as long as ideas keep coming in a steady flow.  I'd even be willing to extend it into my summer vacation as a project to keep me busy.

Length?: This depends more on inspiration and ideas.  If I can't think of anything to keep the story going, it may spell the end for this little charade.  I also may be depending on anyone whose actually interested enough to read the comic or even fave/comment on it.  The more feedback/suggestions, the longer it will continue to be drawn, I suppose.

Also under Length, I'd consider a good handful of pages to make up a "chapter", maybe even a short fifteen to get each story/plot rolling.  Otherwise, it may turn out to be longer or shorter depending on what I want.


:bulletgreen:What programs might help me in developing these pages like a professional?:bulletgreen:

For the most part, everything will be hand-drawn first, then scanned and toned in Photoshop CS3.  I'd really appreciate any advice that anyone has to offer.

Here are some of my "weakspots":
:bulletblue: IMPORTANT: I'm having some difficulties with toning and stuff, not that I don't know how to change from one grayscale to the next, I just wouldn't mind some hints or tips about finding or making my own patterns to use with the Filter menu strip option (at the top of the screen next to...Select and Analysis).  If anyone has any suggestions, leave me a comment or a note!
